The 12-point pre-MOT check
- Check every exterior light with the engine running, including brake lights, indicators, fog lights and number plate lights.
- Measure tyre tread properly, inspect for uneven wear and set the correct pressures.
- Test wipers, washers, horn, seatbelts, mirrors, windscreen chips and number plates.
- Look at brake fluid, warning lights, exhaust smoke, suspension bounce and visible leaks underneath.
